Aranza Ramos, 28, had been searching for months for her husband, Omar Zelaya, who had disappeared since last December in Guaymas, Sonora. At midnight on Thursday she was killed by an armed commando who came to her house to attack her.
Aranza, the mother of a 1-year-old baby, became an activist for the “Madres y Guerreras Buscadoras de Sonora” collective following the disappearance of her partner.
The state Attorney’s Office reported that the main line of investigation is related to her activism and the search for her husband.
A local media identified as “El Mitotero” pointed out last night in Image News with Ciro Gómez Leyva that there were no conditions to cover his wake, even that out of respect for the family all the reports would be made by telephone.
They described her as a tireless warrior who will be remembered by her companions as someone who took the bread from her mouth to give it to others, every weekend she went in search of her husband.
The group asks for justice for the death of Aranza Ramos.
