After ending the title drought, Cruz Azul took a new step in its history and will seek to stock its showcases as in its best years, remembering the Machine that conquered Liga MX in the 70s.
In that sense, Guillero ‘Wendy’ Mendizabal, a historical cement player, considered that Juan Reynoso’s Machine has the arguments to become a vintage team.

“I think so (being a vintage team), everything will depend on how the squad is maintained, we spent a long time playing together, there were one or two changes per year and that generated a love for the club, an identity; There was a great union for so long playing together, so that was the success of the team and it seems to me that today we see that again. Hopefully everyone will continue ”, he said.
Juan Reynoso It reminds him of two legends of the cement bench: Ignacio Trelles and Raúl Cárdenas.
“They (Trelles and Cárdenas) were great coaches and their success was having brought together a team with high-quality players like those there were at that time, through good treatment and respect, so it could be said that it is like a school that I see now with Juan Reynoso ”, he explained.
“I know Juan Reynoso, I think it was a good idea to bring him to Cruz Azul as a player. He has always shown that he is a serious guy, he knows what it means to play for Cruz Azul and he instilled all that knowledge in his players. Surely it already has a place in the history of the club ”, he concluded.
