MEXICO CITY. The National Meteorological Service (SMN) reported that Tropical Storm Felicia and Tropical Depression Guillermo are in the process of weakening in the Pacific Ocean, very far from the Mexican coasts.

In addition, the passage of Tropical Wave number 13 through the center and south of the country, in combination with a low pressure channel in the southern Gulf of Mexico, will cause very heavy rains in the State of Mexico and Guerrero; strong in Chiapas, Mexico City, Morelos and Oaxaca; showers in Campeche, Guanajuato, Hidalgo, Puebla, Querétaro, Quintana Roo, San Luis Potosí, Tabasco, Tlaxcala, Veracruz and Yucatán, and isolated rains in Aguascalientes.

In addition, a low pressure channel that will extend from the northwest to the west of Mexico, in combination with instability in the upper part of the atmosphere and the entry of humidity from the Pacific Ocean, will generate very heavy rains in Chihuahua, Durango, Sonora and Zacatecas; strong in Michoacán and Sinaloa; showers in Colima, Jalisco and Nayarit, and isolated rains in Baja California and Baja California Sur.

The predicted rainfall will be accompanied by electrical discharges, and conditions for hail fall are expected in Chiapas, Chihuahua, Mexico City, Coahuila, Durango, State of Mexico, Guerrero, Jalisco, Michoacán, Morelos, Nayarit, Nuevo León, Oaxaca, Sinaloa, Sonora, Tamaulipas and Zacatecas.

Likewise, wind is expected, with gusts of 50 to 60 kilometers per hour in Baja California, Baja California Sur, Chihuahua, Durango, San Luis Potosí, Sonora and Zacatecas, as well as the Gulf and Isthmus of Tehuantepec.

Rainfall could cause landslides, increase in the levels of rivers and streams, and overflows and floods in low-lying areas, for which the SMN urged the population and maritime navigation to heed the notices of the National Water Commission (Conagua) and follow the indications of the state, municipal and Civil Protection authorities.

In the morning, the minimum temperatures will range between 0 and 5 degrees in mountainous areas of the State of Mexico, Hidalgo, Oaxaca, Puebla, Tlaxcala and Veracruz.
