Today is Tuesday, July 20 and these are the main news of the day:
1.- A shooting at a Broward nightclub left three people injured. Broward police reported that two men got out of a vehicle and opened fire on the victims. Two of the injured are guards from the Playhouse Gentlemen’s Club, located at 5775 Hallandale Beach Blvd. Two of the victims are in serious condition and the third is stable in an area hospital.
2.- The White House is studying the most effective way to restore the internet in Cuba and make the sending of remittances go directly to the Cuban people, without benefiting the regime. It also plans to increase its staff at its embassy in Havana.
3.- In Cuba, meanwhile, there is a dramatic increase in COVID-19 cases, a scenario that seems to be aggravated by the number of people who have taken to the streets to demonstrate for and against the regime. In the last hours, the government reported more than 6,000 new cases of coronavirus and 61 deaths, the highest per capita rate in Latin America.
4.- The relatives of the victims of the landslide in Surfside could now be victims of financial fraud. Many families closed their credit and asked to block their social security number, to prevent cybercriminals from stealing the identities of those who lost their lives in the building.
5.- Jennifer López and singer Rauw Alejandro challenged their fans to show their dance moves with the tag of the single #cambiaelpaso. Weeks later, the hashtag is trending on the TikTok social network, with more than 11.8 million visits and more than 5,000 original videos with its followers.
