The casting call that we echoed the other day for the third season of “Batwoman” is already covered. The CW network was looking for an actress for the role of Renee Montoya for the series. The Deadline media reports that the chosen one is Victoria Cartagena.
The actress is known for her work in “Servant” or “Manifest,” but it is even more interesting that she played Renee Montoya in the Fox series “Gotham.” That is, she is going to return to the same character. We do not know yet if it is a coincidence, and therefore there will be no allusion, or if they will cling to the idea of the multiverse. Until now, the Arrowverse had not had a direct connection to “Gotham.”
The media offers a description of the character indicating that she is a former police officer who left the body when she could no longer bear the corruption within the department. Now he runs the “monster division”, which hasn’t seen much action … until now. Fair and pragmatic, and LGBTQ +, she is a woman with a very personal (and mysterious) mission to help clean the streets of Gotham the right way, by any means necessary. This is the same description that rang out at the beginning of the month.
In the season two finale, Ryan Wilder (Javicia Leslie) fully took on the role of Batwoman, while Kate Kane left Gotham in search of her missing cousin Bruce Wayne. It was also revealed that Ryan’s biological mother, who was believed to have died in childbirth, is actually alive.
In addition to Leslie, Rachel Skarsten, Meagan Tandy, Nicole Kang, and Camrus Johnson also star in the series. Dougray Scott, the original cast member of the series, has also left the series after the second season.
