A couple buys clothes online and receives 25,000 ecstasy pills

An Austrian couple had the scare of their lives when they received 25,000 ecstasy pills when buying clothes on a Dutch website. The authorities have already detained the person receiving the package. Meanwhile, they continue to investigate who sent it. This is his story.

The “dangers” of shopping online

The Austrian couple expected to receive a box of clothes that they had bought on the Internet. The delivery man arrived with two packages. One of them did indeed contain the clothes, but the other was filled with drug.

The 59 and 58-year-old couple accepted the two packages, although they do admit that they were surprised by the excessive weight of one of them. When they opened it, a total of 24,800 were found pink pills. The woman at first thought that they were simply decorative stones. But the husband began to suspect that it was really a drug.

They quickly went to the post office closest to their home, from where they notified the authorities. It was they who certified that the pills were indeed ecstasy.

They then notified the Dutch security forces, the country where the package came from. Dutch police discovered that the box should arrive at Scotland, but ended up in Austria by mistake.

The Scottish police were also alerted, who proceeded to arrest the person to whom the drug shipment. Right now the Dutch police are investigating who sent the package and why it arrived in Austria.

The Austrian police recently confirmed that the pills have an approximate market value of 500,000 euros.
