Before fans of Marvel and DC Comics fought on social networks about which is the best company, young millennials enjoyed in the 1990s and 2000s several animated series that stood out for their quality, especially Batman: The Animated Series Y Superman: The Animated Series, both belonging to the same universe that would later expand with the Justice League series.

With the arrival of HBO Max in Latin America, fans of these productions have a golden opportunity, to enjoy them again as they never could during their childhood, without ads and with the option of marathoning for hours, days or weeks. Batman: The Animated Series It was created by Bruce Timm and Eric Radomski, and was inspired by the movie Batman – 72%, which gave a new dark image for the superhero, very different from the one that Adam West had recorded in the public with the television series. Aired between 1992 and 1995, the series had 85 chapters, and is considered a masterpiece of animation.

In addition to the other previously mentioned Superman and Justice League series, the Batman series had a sequel, Batman beyond, known in Latin America as Future Batman, where an old Bruce Wayne trains a young man to become his successor. The show only had 52 chapters, but it was very well received by fans and critics, and had a spin-off film, Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker (2000).
Many years after Future Batman stopped airing, we had a new sequel in feature film form, Batman and Harley Quinn – 56%, which had the original creative team back. According to various rumors, HBO Max is planning a revival of Batman: The Animated Series, but so far there is no concrete news about it. While the legendary series arrives at HBO Max Latin America or while they tell us if there will be a revival or not, we can already enjoy other Batman series such as Batman the Brave, Justice League Action Y Harley quinn.
HBO Max also has in its catalog with the Bat Man films, from the two that redefined the character in Tim Burton in the 90s, through the two failed adaptations of Joel Schumacher, to the Christopher Nolan trilogy that is considered among the best of the superhero subgenre in cinema. Finally there is what was done by Zack Snyder (300 – 60%, Watchmen, The Watchers – 65%, The Man of Steel – 55%) in the DC Extended Universe (DCEU).
In the last decades several actors have given life to Batman, but the most prominent are Christian Bale and Ben Affleck (Argo – 96%, Armageddon – 39%, The Accountant – 51%), although Michael Keaton (Birdman or (The Unexpected Virtue of Ignorance) –
91%, Beetlejuice, the super ghost – 81% Hunger for Power – 83%) is about to regain relevance thanks to his future appearance in The Flash. We will also have Robert Pattinson (Tenet – 83%, El Faro – 96%, High Life – 73%) as the protagonist of The Batman, directed by Matt Reeves (Planet of the Apes: War – 93%, Let Me In (2010) – 88%, Cloverfield: Monster – 77%).

What no one doubts is that the superhero will continue to be a favorite among fans and that many adaptations will come after the ones we currently know. The Batman opens in 2022 and The Flash Also, so next year we will have three Batmans on the big screen.
