Actress, screenwriter, poet and singer-songwriter Michaela coel joins the cast of the second Black Panther film, titled “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever”. The interpreter has participated in series such as “Black Earth Rising”, “Chewing Gun” and especially for “It could destroy you”, a film by HBO Max that has received four nominations from this year’s Primetime Emmy, three for her as director , writer and actress.
The medium Variety, who broke the news, does not offer details about the role he will play. It is said that the actress would already be at Pinewood Studios in Atlanta, where production began last month.
The second Black Panther film will delve into the world of Wakanda, but no official details of the film are known. The fan-casting already places Coel as a potential Storm, given the common history that this character has with T’Challa, but there have been no rumors at the moment that point to the presence of the mutant in the film.
Coel joins Tenoch Huerta as the two hitherto known new faces of the film, joined by the main cast of the first who will return for it. Huerta also does not know what role he will play but rumors place him as Namor. Other rumored characters for the film have been Namora, Namor’s cousin, and Attuma, the leader of a tribe from Atlantis and who is considered the true king of Atlantis. Also some information speaks of a conflict with Atlantis.
The film will be released in theaters on July 8, 2022.
