Singer Laura Pausini will star in a film for Amazon Studios

The successful Italian singer and producer Laura Pausini, known in Latin America for songs like “Se fue” and “La soledad”, will take a new step in her career by starring in a film that will be available on Amazon Prime Video in 2022. The film is based on an original idea by Pausini and is co-written by Monica rametta and Ivan Cotroneo, the latter also directs.

Through a statement, Amazon announced that today it began filming the film produced by Endemol Shine Italy. Cotroneo he has credits as a screenwriter in the series Tutti pazzi per amore (2011), Un’altra vita (2014) and Come Diventare Popolari to Scuola (2015) and the movies The kryptonite nella borsa (2011) and I travel alone – 65%.

The still untitled film, part of an idea by Laura Pausini and it is announced as an innovative project, which will show us the side that we did not know about the famous singer, her love for cinema. Pausini expressed his excitement at starting this new stage in his career with these words:

I had been receiving offers for film projects for a long time, but I could not find anything that was special enough to dedicate my time and energy. I did not feel the urge to tell my story and was looking for an innovative script. In February 2020, I met Amazon Studios and during one of our meetings I realized that there was a story that I had never told that was important to me and that I now wanted to share. I am happy with the enthusiasm with which they have immediately supported my artistic idea.

Laura Pausini He was born on May 16, 1974 in Faenza, Province of Ravenna, Italy, and much of his success derives from his versatility and the languages ​​in which he sings: Spanish, Portuguese, English, French, Sicilian and Neapolitan, among others. Her beginnings in the world of music go back to when she was 18 years old and she won at the Sanremo Festival in 1993. To date, the singer has published 13 albums and has sold more than 70 million records. The new film that she will star in Amazon Studios is inspired by her own story, and she hopes it will surprise everyone, including her fans and those who already know her.

The artist has received more than 50 national and international awards, including a 2006 Grammy for the album Listen, in the Best Latin Pop Album category, and four Latin Grammy Awards, for her albums Listen, Yo Canto and Primavera anticipada.
