Spain is not a country in which there is a great tradition of saloons but, even so, the offer of this type of model is quite generous. And for those looking for a compact size and outstanding performance, here comes the new Audi RS 3 Sedan 2021. It is the second generation of this top of the range that has recently accompanied the compact body. It comes with the fetish mechanics and with improvements to take into account.

Because although electrification floods everything, the brand with the four rings has decided to give continuity to the mechanics in this model 2.5 TFSI five-cylinder. This much appreciated and award-winning engine is paired with the seven-speed S tronic automatic transmission and quattro all-wheel drive as the only option. It is the most logical, considering that it develops nothing less than 400 hp and 500 Nm of torque, very usable figures and with which it achieves benefits that many supercars of a few decades ago would like.

This new Audi RS 3 Sedan is capable of accelerating from 0 to 100 km / h in 3.8 seconds and its maximum speed is limited to 250 km / h. Although with the optional RS Dynamic package and with the ceramic brakes it could reach 290 km / h. And it’s no longer just how much he runs, but how he does it. Well, this sports saloon opens the system RS Torque Splitter, which is used to distribute the torque optimally on the rear axle thanks to an electronically controlled multi-plate clutch on the transmission axle shafts.

In addition to the new system that replaces the traditional differential, it also adds a couple of new driving modes. The RS Torque Rear is a kind of ‘drift mode’ for controlled drifts, while the RS Performance brings out its best face on the track. The behavior will be exemplary thanks to the RS sport suspension with adaptive shock absorbers (optional) or the greater drop of the wheels in this example.

To put a bit of sanity, the Audi RS 3 Sedan mounts a steel brake system with discs 375 mm at the front and 310 mm at the rear, which also improves its cooling. But optionally, you can select the ceramic brakes with 380 mm front calipers and a weight 10 kg less than the standard system. In this case, the clamps can be chosen in gray, red or blue.

Aesthetics it is also one of the great novelties in the new generation of this RS 3. The front features a Singleframe grille with honeycomb grille, large air intakes and a more prominent bumper. You cannot miss the new LED optics, with optional Matrix LED technology and a checkered flag daytime running light which can be personalized with the RS 3 inscription with the car stationary.

Gain power thanks to a wider track width or 19 inch wheels that can optionally be shod by semi-slick tires. At the rear, the diffuser that integrates the oval outlets of the RS exhaust stands out. Personalization is important and that is why it adds the exclusive RS colors, Kyalami green and Kemora gray.

In the inside there are quite a few specifics such as the RS sports seats or a steering wheel with a band at the 12 o’clock position, plus new display modes for the Audi Virtual Cockpit. The Audi RS 3 Sedan will hit showrooms in the fall of 2021 and its price starts from 78,600 euros.
