The Secretary of States of the United States, Antony Blinken, applauded the sanctions that the British Government imposed this Thursday, July 22, against the front men of the Nicolás Maduro regime, Alex Saab and Álvaro Pulido for corruption and illicit enrichment.
“We congratulate our partners in the UK for sanctioning corrupt people. Together, we will defend good governance for the peoples of nations plagued by corruption, “said the head of diplomacy through Twitter.
The British Government alleges that both Saab and Pulido are sanctioned “for exploiting two of Venezuela’s public programs that were established to provide poor Venezuelans with affordable food and housing. They benefited from improperly awarded contracts, in which promised goods were delivered at highly inflated prices. His actions caused more suffering to Venezuelans who were already in poverty, for their own private enrichment. “
We commend our partners in the United Kingdom for sanctioning corrupt individuals. Together, we will champion good governance for the peoples of the nations plagued with corruption.
