Westworld: Season 4 Production Has Been Paused Due To Positive Test For COVID-19

COVID-19 has wreaked havoc on this world. One of the many industries that has been severely affected is film and television. Last year many productions had to stop abruptly when the outbreak of cases reached unsuspected levels in several countries. Something that delayed the restart of the same was the fact that new security protocols had to be developed and implemented in order to continue filming.

One of the most basic is the use of tests to detect if someone from the cast or team is infected with this virus. As the pandemic does not have the face of ending soon, these tests have made it possible to detect in time when someone is infected and for the same reason the filming of some series has had to pause as the situation is determined. That has happened to Bridgerton – 92%, a [entity_embed style=”link-tomatometro” id_entity=”403522″], to [Temporada] American Horror Story: 1984 (9)[/entity_embed] already House of the Dragon.

Now we can add one more to this list: the fourth season of Westworld –

75%. Deadline (via .) has reported that last season’s production had to be halted after a team member tested positive in one of the routine tests. Filming is going to have to pause for two days next week. It must be said that this started at the beginning of this summer. For a series of this type, the coronavirus has been particularly problematic because they were used to being able to film freely in various locations throughout the United States and the world; the first two seasons were filmed in California, Arizona and Utah, while the third expanded its horizons and was recorded in Catalonia, Valencia and Singapore.

The coronavirus makes it more difficult to film in different countries or even in places far from the actors’ country of residence. Take, for example, the case of The Flash and Michael Keaton. The actor questioned his participation in the film because of his reluctance to travel to London to shoot it. So he said in an interview for Deadline in March of this year.

I am more concerned. I am more attentive to the Covid situation in the UK than anything else. That will determine everything, and that is why I am living outside the city, staying away from everyone, because the Covid has really worried me. So that’s the first thing I have in all projects. I look at it and say, is this thing going to literally kill me? And you know, if not, we talk

Fortunately for his fans, in the end the actor decided to accept the role, but he is proof that in the new world anything can happen. The reality is that everyone, not just actors, has to think twice before accepting a face-to-face job or one that requires us to travel. The risk is not over, although some want to think so.

Changing the subject, earlier this year the protagonist of Westworld, Evan Rachel Wood, joined the other victims of Marilyn Manson and revealed on social networks the abuses to which the musician subjected her in their relationship:

The name of my abuser is Brian Warner, also known to the world as Marilyn Manson. He started submitting to me as a teenager and horribly abused me for years. He brainwashed me and manipulated me into submitting. I am done living in fear of retaliation, slander or blackmail. I’m here to expose this dangerous man and call out the many industries that have allowed him, before he ruins more lives. I am with the many victims who will no longer be silent.
