Keanu Reeves fans have long speculated about his possible arrival in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the superhero franchise that has conquered the world in the last 12 years. So far nothing official has been said about this, but today Marvel seems to have given a clue with which fans are already hatching theories.

Today, September 2, is the birthday of Reeves, an actor who rose to fame for his roles in Bram Stoker’s Dracula – 79%, Full Speed - 93% and the Matrix trilogy – 87%; his career was a little slower for a decade, after the premiere of Constantine – 46%, but with Another Day To Kill – 85% (John Wick), Reeves was on everyone’s lips again, and that is precisely what a tweet from Marvel UK mentioned, which was suspiciously deleted, although some saved the screenshot:
Keanu Reeves has had a professional resurgence in recent years, and that was in large part thanks to the John Wick film series. Keanu is celebrating his 57th birthday today and hopefully he will receive many, many gifts.

Fans of Matrix You will recognize in the Marvel greeting a reference to the first installment of the saga, in which Neo asks for “weapons, many weapons” (guns, lots of guns), a phrase that was also added to John Wick 3: Parabellum – 98% as an easter egg for fans. Obviously this is far from being an official confirmation, but as we mentioned before, the actor’s fans are hatching theories and asking Marvel for an explanation on Twitter, and if they do not receive it at least the tweet revived the hope that conversations with continue the company; Marvel’s Chief Creative Officer Kevin Feige has in the past said that he has an interest in Reeves to be part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

I find it strange that Marvel UK is sharing a post today on Keanu Reeves birthday. Do you know something that we don’t know since it hasn’t been in the MCU until now?

There has been a lot of talk about the role that Reeves could play in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, in 2019 director Kevin Smith suggested that he would be perfect for the role of Moon Knight and the Russo brothers, directors of Avengers: Endgame – 95% agreed, however that role is already filled today. Others proposed that I could play Ghost Rider, but we are still in the same ignorance of that moment.
Throughout its history, the Marvel Cinematic Universe has been adding well-known stars to its ranks, in some cases it took actors with some recognition and launched them to stardom, and in others it took already established actors. We have cases like Jeff Bridges, Kurt Russell or Cate Blanchett, who only had an appearance as villains, and then disappear, but others like Samuel L. Jackson and Michael Douglas continue to be part of the franchise and we will see them soon in new projects.
Recently the also renowned Oscar Isaac joined to give life to the protagonist of Moon knight in a Disney Plus series, and as a villain in that same series we have Ethan Hawke. As we can see, Marvel Studios are trying to attract as many talents as they can, and that is why the arrival of Keanu reeves seems inevitable. While we confirm if the fan assumptions are true, we know that we will see Reeves in The Matrix 4, sequel to Matrix: Revolutions – 36% that comes more than twenty years after the premiere of the first film in the series.
