This year the FICM in its 19th edition has opted for a hybrid version of the festival, which means that some activities will be face-to-face and others digital, without forgetting the television channels that will provide their space for screenings. The event that will take place from October 27 to November 1 has already shared which will be the Official Selection, this taking into account its main mission which is “to support Mexican cinema, cultivate new audiences and spread the film culture of Mexico” .
Within this official selection recently confirmed in moreliafilmfest.com, is La Section Michoacana with titles such as The blue day boy who can’t get out from Paco Alarcon, Waiting from Celina Yunuen Manuel Piñón or Inner freedom from Porfirio López Mendoza; The Mexican Feature Film Section with films such as 50 or Two Whales are found on Jorge Cuchí Beach, The way of the Sun by Claudia Sainte-Luce (The Unusual Cat Fish – 100%, or A Police Film – 92% by Alonso Ruizpalacios.

The Mexican Documentary Section with films like Letters from a distance by Juan Carlos Rulfo (Once upon a time), Comala from Gian Cassini, or cross by Teresa Camou Guerrero (Sunú); finally The Mexican Short Film Section with productions such as 2 × 1 from David “Diómedes” Heras, Asperger’s at 21 from Mauricio Ademir Ortega, and Beyond space from Beatriz Alvarez. According to official information, there are 10 short films and 3 feature films for the Michoacan Section, the Mexican Feature Film Section has 17 animations, 18 documentaries and 31 fiction projects.
The Mexican Documentary Section has 11 titles, while the Mexican Feature Film Section has 10 tapes. According to the information shared by the Quadratin agency, the 100 projects were selected from among 702 registered jobs, of which only 189 were directed by women. Of the films chosen, 40% were made by directors. Some of the virtual screenings can be seen on Channel 22, Cinépolis Klic and Filmlatino.
