The Hispanic-Venezuelan tennis player Garbiñe Muguruza, ninth seeded, defeated the Belarusian Victoria Azarenka this Friday 6-4, 3-6 and 6-2, eighteenth favorite, and reached the knockout stages of the US Open for the second time. Muguruza, 27, playing for the ninth time in Abiertomy will have as his next rival the winner of the match between the Czech Barbora Krejcikova, eighth seeded, and the young Russian Kamilla rakhimova, number 134 in the world.
After two hours and 14 minutes of action on center court Arthur Ashe, Muguruza, who was facing for the sixth time Azarenka, achieved his fourth win in the Grand Slam champions duel to leave the mark at 4-2.

In the first match of the day, the Romanian Simona halep, twelfth seeded, achieved the pass to the fourth round by prevailing in three sets by 7-6 (11), 4-6 and 6-3 to the Kazakh Elena Rybakina.
