Ten years have passed since the movie ‘Sucker Punch’ hit our screens, directed by Zack Snyder. The film presented us with the story of a young woman played by Emily Browning (‘American Gods’) who was forcibly committed to a psychiatric institution in the 1950s. Once there, in order to cope with his life in this place, he decides to take refuge in a fantasy world as a parallel reality. Along with Browning, the film featured Vanessa Hudgens (‘High School Musical’), Abbie Cornish (‘Three Ads for a Crime’), Jena Malone (‘The Neon Demon’), Jamie Chung (‘Lovecraft Country’) and Carla Gugino (‘The Curse of Hill House’).
These actresses, with the exception of Gugino, have met just a few days ago, as we have seen thanks to a publication that Vanessa Hudgnes has shared through her Instagram account. In this one, we saw Hudgens recreate with their co-stars a photo taken twelve years ago, during the filming of ‘Sucker Punch’. The actress appears surrounded by the rest of the actresses except for Carla Gugino, whom Hudgens has also included through a fun montage.
“12 years later- reunited and feels SUPER GOOD. Carla Gugino couldn’t come so I’ve tried to include her the best I could with photoshop. I’m very grateful to have always been connected with this group of strong and incredible women,” she said Hudgens in this post.
For its part, Jena Malone also decided to immortalize this reunion with the other actresses of the film, posting the same image on his Instagram account along with the following words: “Before and now, twelve years later! A little ‘Sucker Punch’ reunion where our beloved Carla Gugino is missing !!! to death with these women. I have never connected so intensely with such an inspiring group of women on a set. It is an absolute dream to be able to support you girls! “
Malone included in this post the hashtag “suckerpunchforever” (“‘Sucker Punch’ forever”) and “letsmakeaprequel”, that is, “let’s make a prequel”, which has opened the possibility of a new continuation of the film, something that has been rumored from time to time. In fact, Zack Snyder himself confessed a few months ago in an interview with Vanity Fair, the following: “There is a cut by the director of that film that has yet to be released. I will say it loud.”
The actresses are willing
In this way, Snyder anticipated the possibility of launching a new version of the 2011 film, following a strategy similar to that undertaken this year with his version of ‘Zack Snyder’s Justice League’. Snyder also said the following: “This is a film that I wrote with my friend Steve Shibuya and he and I have been talking about it for a long period of time, as this film is for me (…) a protest film in many ways (…) This movie was the first time that I really faced a complete restructuring of a film to make it more commercial. “
As soon as these statements came to light, the film’s actresses echoed the news showing your support and desire to bring this final cut of the film to light:

This is something that has been talked about again now, as a result of the aforementioned publications as a meeting between the protagonists of the film, although at the moment this is more a wish than a reality.
