Sledgehammer Games and Activision took advantage of the spotlight on the Call of Duty: Vanguard multiplayer presentation to confirm what was already an open secret: Warzone’s new map will take us to the Pacific. Yes, the battle royale will also make the jump to World War II. Be careful, because it is not a simple renovation of Verdansk, but a completely new scenario that will see light later this year.
Although the first trailer is brief, they make it clear that Warzone will give a complete twist to its experience with a map that will bet on a greater number of natural areas. Of course, urban areas will continue to play a fundamental role in the design of the stage. It had previously been leaked that the Pacific map will be slightly larger than Verdansk, however, at the moment we do not have an official confirmation.
Activision promises that in the coming months it will share all the details of the new Warzone map. In the meantime, you should know that this scenario will be accompanied by new playlists, game modes with limited duration, community events and, most importantly, a new anti-cheat system. It should be mentioned, however, that this proposal will only be available on the PC version, which is the most problematic in relation to hackers.
When it comes to multiplayer Call of Duty: Vanguard, there is also news. First it is important to say that you will offer up to 20 maps at launch, a figure that will grow as the new seasons arrive. Also, all scenarios will have tactical destruction, being possible to alter certain elements of the environment, such as doors or walls, to obtain advantages during the battle. Will we see this novelty implemented in Warzone? It is possible, especially since both experiences are being created with the same graphics engine, according to Tom Henderson.
Finally, the Call of Duty: Vanguard multiplayer will include a robust weapon customization system, despite the limitations that existed with the arsenal at that time. On the other hand, there will be new perks, killstreaks, equipment and improvements. Vanguard will be available next November 5th on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X | S and PC. Regarding the new Warzone map, its date is still pending, but you can be sure that it will see the light before the end of 2021.
