Spider-Man is one of the most beloved superheroes in history, and in his film adaptations he has shown to have many fans in his three versions, whether played by Tobey Maguire (The Master Play – 72%, The Great Gatsby – 48%, Crazy Weekend – 25%), Andrew Garfield (To The Last Man – 86%, Social Network – 96%, A Reason To Live – 67%) and Tom Holland (Spider-Man: Far From Home – 82%, Avengers: Infinity War – 79%, The Impossible – 81%). However, something that had criticized Holland’s version, which is part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, is that the role of Uncle Ben, very important in any origin story of the character, was practically omitted in favor of Tony Stark, who he held the role of father figure.

Now, thanks to the What If …? – 84%, Marvel Studios have finally pleased Spider-Man fans by making a reference to Uncle Ben, from the mouth of Peter Parker. This is not enough for us to forget that the character has been ignored in every one of Spider-Man’s appearances in the franchise, but hopefully we will have more of it in Spider-Man: No Road Home, which opens in December.
Meanwhile, fans are very happy for the new chapter of What If …? and for the brief mention of Uncle Ben in the series, through social networks they have expressed their joy. In the original story of the superhero, it is Uncle Ben’s death at the hands of a thief who he himself let escape that inspires him to become Spider-Man.
The most recent episode of What If …? It is about an alternate universe where a zombie virus infected The Avengers, and thanks to its superpowers, it has spread more quickly and effectively. The surviving heroes must fight to survive in this apocalyptic scenario; the group is made up of Spider-Man, Bucky, Wasp, Ant-Man, Sharon Carter and Okoye.

‘Peter mentioning [tío] Ben isn’t even canon for the MCU, who cares. ‘ It’s exactly the same Peter, only circumstances have changed, which is a zombie apocalypse rather than a snap. So you already have confirmation from your Uncle Ben, so shut up

Since #WhatIf is technically part of the MCU, Spider-Man haters can stop saying that Peter has never finally ‘mentioned’ Uncle Ben. LOL
