Andrew Garfield debuted as Spider-Man in 2012, Sony brought to the big screen a reboot of the character much more in keeping with the lore of the comics. The first movie was good but unspectacular, while the second was a stumble in the quality that was expected. The studio went backwards with the production of the third part and the story of that Peter Parker was left in the air; Furthermore, the arrival of Tom Holland as the new Spider-Man of the MCU made the version of Andrew will be left far behind and without opportunities to come back to life.
For months the networks have commented that Andrew Garfield will be the spider again in Spider-Man: No Way Home, movie that could put the Spider-Verse in the center of the action with Garfield and Tobey Maguire as variants of the multiverse. You can’t help but imagine scenes and moments of ‘Oh my gosh, how fucking cool would it be if they did that?’ But it is important for me to say publicly that this is not something that I am consciously involved in. But I know that I will not be able to say anything to convince anyone that I do not know what is happening. No matter what I say, I’m screwed. Either it will be really disappointing for people or it will be really exciting.
But even though the words of Andrew Garfield rejects any link with Spider-Man: No Way Home, the fans refuse to give up hope. The vast majority believe that everything is a facade, and that the rumored actors will have interventions in the new Spider-Man movie. Only time will give us the answer to the big question, so we will have to wait for the next December 17th. Will we see Tobey Maguire back as Peter Parker? Everybody has faith.
