Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City will face Leicester City on the fourth day of the Premier League after the end of the national team break. The skyblues started the season with doubts, but the defeats against Norwich and Arsenal have boosted the morale of the defending Premier League champion and Champions League runner-up.
Before them they will have a team with which they have pending accounts: a loner from Ihenacho snatched the Community Shield from them in the first meeting of the course. Also with six points in the classification, the foxes continue to grow within English football and are getting closer to consolidating and breaking the Big six.
Those of Pep Guardiola are, one more edition, favorites to the title. As current champions and with the arrival of Jack Grealish, which is one more offensive argument, the citizens begin the defense of the crown against the tyranny of Chelsea, Manchester United and Liverpool in one of the most even editions of recent years.
The Leicester of Brendan Rodgers, an uncomfortable rival
The foxes put Manchester City’s level to the test at this start of the season, one of the most uncomfortable rivals for all the greats of British football. They have started with two wins and a painful loss to West Ham, but the sports project is consolidated in all its fullness.
Precisely the skyblues have lived it in the last two seasons: they have lost two of their last four head-to-head matches (three from Premier League and one from Community Shield), something that is not circumstantial. Leicester’s growth is unstoppable and it is becoming a bigger attraction for the players to get to the city and to the club.
