The launch of Android 12 is getting closer. Days ago, Google confirmed that the new version of the mobile operating system would arrive “in a few weeks”; and now the definitive date seems to have leaked. According to an internal document accessed by XDA-Developers, the system would be available from the next 4th of October.
Anyway, it is worth noting a couple of issues. First of all, the date mentioned corresponds to publishing Android 12 source code via AOSP (Android Open Source Project). The data is revealing because, in general, this occurs the same day that Pixel smartphones are updated to the stable version of the new operating system.
As the report mentions, this tradition has been maintained since the launch of Android 9 in 2018. At that time, the first Pixels received the update on August 6, the same date on which the source code was published. Something identical happened with Android 10 on September 3, 2019, and with Android 11 on September 8, 2020.
The Android 12 stable update may be released on October 4, as that’s when Google plans to release to AOSP. This tentative release date was also mentioned by a 3PL. pic.twitter.com/PMN802gQj0

If the trend persists, the apparent release of the Android 12 source code on October 4 would be an indication that Pixel smartphones on the market would make the definitive leap to said software on the same date. Also, the timeline is consistent with rumors of the formal launch of the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro later that month.
Android 12 could see the light in a few weeks
Remember that Android 12 incorporates some of the most important changes in recent years for Google software. The platform will have an important aesthetic renovation by the hand of Material You, a new interface design language that is reflected both at the system level and in the applications. This section highlights themes that automatically adapt their colors to match those of the wallpaper.
In terms of privacy, Android 12 presents a panel that provides greater control over app permissions. In addition, it facilitates control over how the microphone and camera are used, and can even completely disable access to them.
Another novelty is focused on gaming. In this case, Android 12 will allow you to enjoy video games while downloading in background.
