Everything seems to indicate that the MCU trilogy of Spider-Man is about to come to an end with the imminent premiere of Escape From Spiderhead. The one before her is the one that Andrew Garfield starred in and we all have to admit that it is the one we remember least fondly. The amazing Spiderman – 73% is a good movie, but it is nothing that has had an impact on the genre.

On the other hand, The Amazing Spider-Man 2: The Menace of Electro – 52% is an example of the dangers of wanting to rush when creating a Cinematic Universe. Sony wanted to imitate the MCU, it still wants to, actually. The consequence of that is that in that film they did not focus on just telling a story; they wanted to leave open the possibilities for multiple films that they had in hand. The result was a film that was a narrative disaster in many ways. The reality is that creating a coherent Cinematic Universe requires patience to make the connections, otherwise you end up with a film that is more of an introduction to various plots than a full-fledged story.
Something that perhaps we have asked ourselves on occasion is what you think Andrew Garfield by Tom Holland. The answer might surprise more than one. The actor attended The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon. Inevitably the next movie about Peter Parker came up during that conversation. It was there that the actor shared his opinion about the actor who currently plays the arachnid hero. He thinks that Tom holland he’s perfect as Peter Parker / Spider-Man. He also mentioned that he would rather be a spectator than play that hero … mostly because he feels like he screwed up in that role. Here his words:

I think Tom Holland is just the perfect Peter Parker and Spider-Man, so I’m super excited. I can go back to just being a fan, which is my preferred position… being able to sit with the audience and just think, ‘Yeah, you screwed up, buddy, you didn’t do as well as you could have.’ I can be that guy who says ‘Yeah, I didn’t love that suit.’
It was in that same program where, again, he denied his participation in the future film of Holland and said that the photo that has been circulating in networks is as false as a fifteen dollar bill. The reality is that until the movie comes out, the actor will continue to deny having anything to do with those tapes. His words about the young actor can be interpreted as that he feels that his time as Parker has already ended and that he did not do what he had to do in that role.
On the other hand, something that we have all wondered is how was the experience of Garfield working on those tapes at the time. The actor was recently interviewed by Variety and there the subject came up. He first spoke well of the matter, but then revealed that he had his differences with Amy Pascal, although he assured that they actually get along. Here are his words about this situation:
That was just beautiful. I was able to meet Emma Stone and work with her and Sally Field. I had karma with Amy Pascal, who was a mother figure and we were fighting, but in the end, we loved each other on a deep level. We tried to find ourselves as half as we could in terms of what he wanted to do in this role and what his needs were as head of the studio.
This may have something to do with his idea that he didn’t do enough like Spider-Man.
