The state of alert in the United States, due to the coronavirus pandemic, has caused citizens to witness extreme and drastic measures … but also rare.
On social networks, a Twitter user exhibited the actions of the authorities in New York, one of the cities with the most movement of people, but which has been practically deserted before the “stay home” quarantine to prevent the spread of COVID-19 .
With a photo, Katie Sutkowi revealed that staff at the New York City Department of Parks and Recreation Spaces removed the baskets from some public basketball courts to prevent people from coming out of their isolation to play.
“At least we still have the dog park next door to entertain us #StayHomeNYC # COVID19,” said the user.
So far, the United States is the country on the continent hardest hit by Covid-19, with more than 2,000 deaths and 123,000, 621 infected.
Didn’t realize we were on the list – @NYCParks is removing our basketball hoop rims this morning, one of 80 #NYC parks to lose them to discourage crowds (but we still have the dog park next door for entertainment) #StayHomeNYC # COVID19 pic.twitter.com/OisngNneun
