Madrid, May 23 . .- The number of daily deaths with coronavirus has returned to 48 this Saturday, as it did last Thursday, and is already one week below one hundred, while the number of new infections confirmed by PCR is 361, 85 less than yesterday Friday.

This has been announced by the Ministry of Health, which indicates that the greatest number of new deaths have been registered in the Comunity of Madrid (12), Andalusia (12), Catalonia (7) and the Basque Country (7).

They are followed by Castilla-La Mancha, with 5 deceased, and with a deceased person the Valencian Community, Extremadura, Galicia, Navarra and La Rioja.

Until 15.00 hours this Saturday, in Spain a total of 235,290 confirmed cases of COVID-19 by PCR and 28,678 deaths have been reported.

Health specifies that the increase in confirmed cases in the last 24 hours is 0.15%.

The department headed by Salvador Illa has stressed that Catalonia has notified 151 new cases of infections, of which 92 are new diagnoses, while the Madrid community has reported 185 new cases, of which 68 are new diagnoses.

The community with the most confirmed cases since the beginning of the pandemic is Madrid (67,610), followed by Catalonia (57,114), Castilla y León (18,737), Castilla-La Mancha (16,855), Basque Country (13,467), Andalusia (12,597 ) and the Valencian Community (11,051), the only regions with more than 10,000 confirmed infections.

If you look at the daily percentage increase in new confirmed cases, the highest is found in Ceuta (0.81%), although we are talking about one person alone; followed by Canarias (0.39%), Castilla y León (0.34%) and Comunidad Valenciana (0.27%); the rest remains below 0.20%.

On the other hand, 125 new hospitalizations for coronavirus have been registered and 13 people were admitted to the ICU.

In the ICU cases, Madrid stands out with 7 new admissions, two in the Valencian Community and one in Aragon, Castilla-La Mancha, Galicia and Navarra.

The majority of new hospitalizations (in the absence of data for Catalonia), almost half, correspond to the Madrid community (59); followed by Castilla-La Mancha with 21 and Andalusia with 14.
