According to the Police, Patricia Ripley threw her son into a channel an hour after another thwarted murder. The first time he tried to get the boy to drown in the water, neighbors came to rescue him.
A Miami, Florida, woman has been accused of murdering her nine-year-old son and trying to hide the boy’s death with a false kidnapping complaint, NBC reports, referring to local authorities.
As detailed, last Thursday Patricia Ripley told the Police that her son had been kidnapped by two unknown persons. On Friday morning, after several hours of searching, Alejandro’s body (that was the name of the little boy) was discovered about 6 kilometers from the place where, according to the mother, he had been abducted.
However, after studying videos to be able to identify the kidnappers, the agents saw Patricia recording herself, pushing her son to a channel. On that occasion, local residents heard Alejandro’s screams and managed to save him.
However, about an hour later the mother took the boy to another channel. “This time, unfortunately, there was no one there to save him,” Dade-Miami County Attorney Katherine Fernandez Rundley said at a press conference.
“The tragic loss of life of a nine-year-old boy, and the loss of any young life, leaves us all grieving. The senseless death of this child will stay with all of us,” added the prosecutor.
The alleged murderer was arrested on Friday and faces charges of first-degree murder and premeditated murder.
