The deceased is the author of the attack, which occurred in Brooklyn.
A man opened fire Tuesday in Brooklyn (New York, USA) and wounded a person. The uniformed men who arrived at the scene shot the attacker, Terence Monahan of the New York Police Department reported during a press conference.
The event occurred at approximately 21:26 (local time).
Before commenting on the event, Monahan posted on her Twitter account a photo of the weapon the assailant used.

At the moment it is unknown what caused the attack, but the uniformed officer specified that it had nothing to do with the protests against police brutality that are currently taking place in many US cities.
The case remains under investigation.
