Built in the Russian shipyards of Severnaya Verf, these ships are equipped with stealth technologies and ready to use the latest missile weapons.
With the name of Admiral Golovkó, the third Russian frigate of project 22350 It was launched into the water this Friday in Saint Petersburg, at the Severnaya Verf shipyards.
The Admiral Golovkó is the third in its style and within the aforementioned project 22350, aimed at the armor of multifunctional ships at sea and built according to stealth technologies; that is, with extensive use of composite materials and other measures that minimize its cross section before the radar. For the same purpose, a new ship hull and superstructure geometry is used.
Designed to carry out tasks on the high seas, as part of naval groups and in close coordination with aircraft and submarines, these ships could be the first to carry the novel Tsirkón hypersonic missiles, which will swell the Navy stockpiles in the coming years, according to Admiral Nikolái Evménov, commander-in-chief of the Russian Navy.
At 135 meters long and 15 meters wide, Project 22350 frigates have a displacement of 4,500 tons. Today they are armed with 130-millimeter A-192 Armat naval artillery pieces, and their 32 missile launchers have an arsenal of 128 such missiles, including the Onix anti-ship, the Kalibr-NK and the Poliment anti-aircraft -Redut.
