A possible tornado left significant damage to Bowie on Friday night.

Around 8:30 p.m. Friday, a tornado warning was issued to Montague County for a severe storm that was capable of producing a tornado.

A short time later, a second tornado warning was issued for an area near Vashti.

There were no injuries directly connected to the storm, but the damage was extensive and widespread, Bowie Fire Chief Doug Page said.

Storm watchers reported that the roofs had been ripped from homes and businesses. We have also heard that 100-year-old trees were cut in half.

NBC 5 also received reports that police cars, with officers inside, were spinning during the storm while sitting in the Walmart parking lot in Bowie.
