The number of deaths in Italy due to the coronavirus reached 11,591 on Monday, when 812 were registered in the last 24 hours, while the increase in cases of contagion has clearly reduced, according to data released today by Civil Protection.

The number of people currently infected is 75,528, with only 1,648 more registered than on Sunday, less than half of the increases in recent days.

Since the first case was detected in Italy on February 20, the total number of those infected is 101,739, of which 14,620 have already been cured.

Of all the positive cases currently, the majority, 58%, are recovering in isolation at home, with mild or no symptoms, while about 4,000 are in intensive care.
