The fight against the coronavirus broke a new barrier this Friday. This time it is the number of recoveries around the world that exceeded two million, as confirmed by the independent count of Johns Hopkins University.
Of the 5.2 million confirmed cases worldwide, 2,058,123 patients have recovered, according to the count. Of those recovered, 350,135 were in the United States, followed by 159,064 in Germany; 150,376 in Spain 136,720 in Italy and 135,430 in Brazil.
The number of cases in Brazil reached 330,890 on Friday, only behind the United States, which has more than 1.5 million infections.
Meanwhile, the same university reported that since the start of the global pandemic, there have been a total of 338,223 COVID-19 related deaths, 96,680 in the United States.
