15 minutes. Nevada Governor Steve Sisolak reported that the Las Vegas casinos, gambling clubs closed since March 17, are scheduled to reopen on June 4.
“Without a thoughtful and measured reopening of the Nevada gambling and gaming industry, all the work that the Nevadans have done to combat the spread will have been in vain“Sisolak said in a press release.
The politician also recommended that American citizens wear a mask and practice social distancing to avoid the spread of the virus.
Sisolak will appear at a press conference to explain more specifically the measures of Phase 2 of the state’s reopening plan.
That same day, the Nevada Gaming and Gambling Control Board will host an event with state and local health officials on the response to the coronavirus in hotels and casinos.
Gaming and betting entities must present reopening plans seven days before opening their doors again.
However, the reopening will depend on the decrease in infections and deaths from COVID-19 in Las Vegas.
In addition to casinos, some retail businesses and several beauty salons will reopen their spaces. Everyone must maintain social distancing.
The United States confirmed 1,601,434 cases of COVID-19 and 96,007 deaths. Nevada accumulates 7,401 positives and 387 deaths, according to the latest rebound from Johns Hopkins University.
